There are two types of Focus membership:

Active Member:

An Active Member is anyone who has been admitted to the Focus Facebook and/or Flickr groups. (You simply need to express an interest in photography to be admitted, or an existing Member can invite you to join).

All Active Members are eligible to participate in Focus activities such as:

• Free weekend shoots
• Trips and Workshops
• Training courses and other events
• Competitions

Please note: Simply “liking” the Focus FaceBook page(s) is not enough to be considered a member. You must be an active member of our Facebook Group to be considered a member.

Focus Plus membership offers extra benefits and resources, for a subscription of just $5 per annum.

Focus Plus Members create their own Member Profile online and automatically join the Member Register:

Focus Plus Members have password access to the Members Area of the Focus website, where they find some great additional benefits:

• Focus Plus-only discounts and special offers from Focus Sponsors

Many Focus Sponsors now offer special discounts and promotions only to Focus Plus Members.

When buying online, Focus Sponsors have set up unique discount codes that are only available in the Members Area of the Focus website, accessible only to Focus Plus Members.

• Exclusive discount on the Focus Online Store

In addition to Sponsor discounts, Focus Plus Members also receive up to 20%  OFF products in the Focus Online Store.

• Advance notice of Focus events

Focus works throughout the year with expert providers of training courses, workshops, trips and tours at highly advantageous prices. Many of these events sell out quickly.

Focus Plus Members get advance notice of these events via email, before they are made available to the wider Focus community. There is no need to miss out on popular opportunities!

• Manage your social media profile

When you complete your Member Profile online, you are invited to enter links to your social media pages on Facebook, Flickr and/or Instagram.

This useful feature allows other Members to find you, and view your photographic portfolio, should you wish. And vice versa.

For many photographers, connectivity is a part of their learning process and journey. We aim to encourage greater interaction between members of the Focus community in this way.

• Vote for Focus Committee Members

Only Focus Plus Members can nominate and vote for Focus Committee Members, and attend the Focus Annual General Meeting (usually held in February).

Being a Focus Plus Member gives you a voice and the opportunity to contribute ideas and opinions.

• Access Focus Committee Meeting Minutes

The Focus Committee meets monthly to plan and manage projects that will enhance the Focus Member experience.

In The Members Area of the Focus website, Focus Plus Members can access the minutes of these meetings, and the minutes of the AGM.

We aim to encourage Focus Plus Members to keep in touch with the activities of Focus in this way.

• Automated subscription renewals

Focus Plus Members will have their $5 subscription automatically renewed every twelve months after upgrading to Focus Plus. Membership can be cancelled at any time.
