Slovenia with Rod Thomas Photography

Slovenia is a country in Central Europe which is known for its mountains, outdoor
recreation and ski resorts. Set on a glacial lake fed by thermal springs, the town of
Bled contains a church-topped islet and a cliffside medieval castle. At nearby Triglav
National Park in the Julian Alps you can ski, hike and raft along the Soča River,
renowned for its aquamarine water.

Ljubljana, Slovenia’s largest and capital city is known for its university population and
green spaces, including the expansive Tivoli Park. The curving Ljubljanica River, lined
with outdoor cafes, divides the city’s old town from its commercial hub. Ljubljana has
many museums, including the National Museum of Slovenia, displaying historic
exhibitions, and the Museum of Modern Art, home to 20th-century Slovene paintings
and sculptures.

Slovenia borders Austria, Hungary, Croatia and Italy and is a relatively untouched
paradise for landscape photographers. Join myself and Slovenian Professional
Photographer, Dan Briški, on this 11 day adventure into a region that has endless
photographic opportunities. Dan has had is work published in magazines, calendars
and books all around the world and also worked for the Slovenian National Parks
Service so he knows this area better than anyone.
