SUMMARY:Southies Shoot - Bombo Quarry - Saturday 21st May with Murray Barnes
DESCRIPTION:Location Information\nLocation features: Rocks. In our `Access all Areas’ return to Bombo after the drama of our last visit\, it’s all about the rocks. I’m seeing big\, dark\, dramatically-sculpted shapes in the cold\, almost-clear light of a new (Election !!) day. But wait. There’s more .. following a more leisurely than normal brekkie\, another Photography Gallery exhibition .. see below\, followed by a scurry home to Vote !. \nHazards/Dangers: It’ll be a good deal safer\, this time round. The safety briefing will be so brief\, you could sneeze & miss it. In fact\, I’ll give it here. Be kind to your mother. And don’t fall in. \nFitness requirements: Very good levels of balance & mobility required on this shoot. Bombo quarry is a difficult shoot to traverse\, with large\, tightly-packed rocks & poor footing. \nAdditional safety equipment required: Torch. Cleats or rock-shoes for the rock-shelf `wet’ areas. Solid walking boots with good ankle support for general area shooting. Shower-resistant layer. \n*Once you add your name to attend the shoot\, please click on the link to Subscribe\, this will enable you to be notified automatically of any changes to the shoot ** \nSafety\nBy adding your name below to attend this Focus shoot you are agreeing to abide by the SAFETY POLICY FOR FOCUS SEASCAPE AND LANDSCAPE available on the Focus website https://focusphotographers.org/focus-safety-policy/\nThis Safety Policy is designed to promote the safety of all members of the Focus Seascape and Landscape Photography Inc Group (Focus) and outlines the responsibilities of members and event leaders.\nFocus Photographers as a group advocates and promotes safe shooting practices. SUMMARY:North Shoot - Saturday 21st May at North Turimetta with Andrew Porter
DESCRIPTION:Location Information\nLocation features: Beach and a flat rockshelf\, with a possible reverse sunrise on Turimetta Headland with reflections \nHazards/Dangers: It’s a very low tide\, but with a moderate swell\, so conditions should be fairly calm. The rockshelf can be slippery with numerous potholes to watch out for. \nFitness requirements: From the road there is a steep track down to the beach\, and then a ten-minute flat walk to access the rockshelf. So\, I am allowing a little bit of extra time before first light for those who want to get onto the shelf. \nAdditional safety equipment required: Rock shoes (if you are going onto the rockshelf) and a torch to navigate around potholes in the dark.
