Focus Photographers as a group advocates and promotes safe shooting practices. Please consider your personal safety and the safety of the group during your time spent on any Focus group outing.

Newcastle Shoot – Saturday 16th July at Chalky Beach Swansea Heads with Terina Vale

Location Information
Location features: Wide range of features. Sandy beach & Rocky beach. Variety of rock shelves with canyons. Exposed coal seams on headlands. A marine sanctuary. One of the most varied rock shelves in the Newcastle region.
Hazards/Dangers: Rock shelf has very uneven surface with boulders and holes. The edge of the rock shelf is sudden, making exit from the water difficult. Possibility of slippery surfaces.
Fitness requirements: Steep walk through soft sand and vegetation along path from car park to water’s edge. Medium walk across uneven rock shelf with pools of water.
Additional safety equipment required: Rock shoes. You will require a flashlight/headlamp for the walk in.
