This Safety Policy is designed to promote the safety of all members of the Focus Seascape and Landscape Photography Inc Group (Focus) and outlines the responsibilities of members and event leaders.
Focus Photographers as a group advocates and promotes safe shooting practices. Please consider your personal safety and the safety of the group during your time spent on any Focus group outing.
By placing your name below you are stating that you have read and understood the Focus Safety Policy Document.
Location features: Wide variety of features. Large sandy beach. Sand dunes. Lighthouse. Breakwall. Rocks. Historic buildings. Picnic shelter that frames the lighthouse. Rising sun will line up with breakwater.
Hazards/Dangers: Many trip hazards – use a torch. Snakes inhabit the dunes – wear boots and take care in the dunes. Freak waves can overtop the breakwall. Cliffs are unstable – avoid standing under the cliffs.
Fitness requirements: Some photo locations are close to the meeting point with near level paved access. But other locations are a lengthy walk along a sandy beach or bitumen walkways.
Additional safety equipment required: Torch. Boots if accessing dunes. Rock shoes if accessing rocks.
