Location features: Beach and a flat rockshelf, with a possible reverse sunrise on Turimetta Headland with reflections
Hazards/Dangers: It’s a low tide, and with a slight swell forecast, so conditions should be calm. The rockshelf can be slippery with numerous potholes to watch out for.
Fitness requirements: From the road there is a steep-ish track down to the beach, and then a ten-minute flat walk out on the rockshelf. So, there’s extra time allowed for getting onto the rockshelf before first light.
Additional safety equipment required: Rock shoes (if you are going onto the rockshelf) and a torch to navigate around potholes in the dark.
