This Safety Policy is designed to promote the safety of all members of the Focus Seascape and Landscape Photography Inc Group (Focus) and outlines the responsibilities of members and event leaders.
Focus Photographers as a group advocates and promotes safe shooting practices. Please consider your personal safety and the safety of the group during your time spent on any Focus group outing.

North Shoot – Saturday 14th May at Newport Pool with Mark Godfrey

Location Information
Location features: Beach and Pool at the darker southern end of Newport Beach. High tide at sunrise should see waves washing into the pool. There’s often a lot of seaweed on the beach at the southern end.
Hazards/Dangers: With a 1.5m predicted swell and high tide there will be waves washing through the pool to watch out for. The prolonged wet weather may have also made the likelihood of falling rocks from the cliff. The rock shelf won’t be accessible.
Fitness requirements: The pool is only a few minuets walk along the beach. Keeping high will bring you to the amenities block and from there there is a well worn path above the small boulders to get to the pool.
Additional safety equipment required: A torch or headlamp as there are no lights at this end of the beach and no pool lights.

Meeting Place & Time
Meeting place: Corner of The Boulevard and Calvert Parade, Newport Beach. Please keep the noise down when you arrive as the meeting point is close to residences.
