North Shoot – Saturday 6th April at Mona Vale Pool with Andrew Porter

Location Information

Location features : A safe location for these conditions. Although we were at Mona Vale last month, this time will be different. The forecast predicts a possible East Coast Low pounding the coast with high winds and rain (on Friday). Combine this with a high (1.9m) tide (on Saturday) and a 2-4m swell, and we should get some pretty impressive wave action over the pool. There is shelter at the beach car park if it is still raining, but to shoot the pool from there you will need a long lens. Easy access onto the beach to get closer without getting hit by in-coming waves. Probably best to avoid going onto the pool itself.

Hazards/Dangers : Big surf expected, and this is a high tide.

Fitness requirements? : Short walk from the car park.

Additional safety equipment required : Always a good idea to wear rock shoes and to bring a torch.
