Location features:
One of the planet’s icon shoots is set to explode. Drive there. Train it. Fly in………….don’t miss this!!!!
The BOM’s swell indicator for 5am Saturday is for 7 metre swell!!! BYO Floaties…………
Hazards/Dangers: There is to be expected extremely high seas which make this a serious shoot, regardless of the excitement factor. We’ll be shooting with a rising tide and an expected massive swell. The danger posed by extreme set waves far exceeding the wet-water marks cannot be over-stated. Be safe at all times. Slippery rocks, flying sheets of spray, possible rain & wind. Large round rocks. Broken waves inundating the rock-shelf in many areas, potentially to head height. As well, there will probably be a lot of photographers on site.
Fitness requirements: Good mobility in difficult conditions with uneven surfaces & large round rocks.
Additional safety equipment required: Torch, weather-proof layers. I prefer solid boots rather than cleats at Bombo quarry. Towel & change of clothes might be good.
