Location features: The world’s most beautiful rock pools, with deep rock-gutters offering the world’s best flow images, plus the world’s best rock-shelf at half-tide (nice !), with the world’s most beautiful Escarpment as a back-drop. Plus, the world’s best brekkie, in a special venue. If you attend 1 Southies shoot this year, make it this 1 .
Hazards/Dangers: A flight of steps down to pool level. Slippery areas & holes in the rocky surrounds. Waves washing through the shoot area. The rock-shelf should be awash, but safe. Will be assessed at the time. Grazing the day away at the brekkie venue – you won’t want to leave – bring your camera for the cloud-on-ocean images.
Fitness requirements: Normal levels of mobility in wet & wave-affected areas.
Additional safety equipment required: Shower-resistant shell, cleats or rock boots for the rock-shelf & pool surrounds.
