FOCUS AGM AND NOMINATIONS FOR THE 2021 FOCUS GROUP COMMITTEE

The Annual General Meeting of the Focus Photographers – Australian Seascape and Landscape Photography Group, will take place via Zoom on Saturday 13th February 2021 at 10.00 am.

The AGM will include:

  • A vote on amendments to the Constitution;
  • A summary of the achievements of the Focus Group during 2020, and its goals for 2021;
  • Disclosure of the financial position of the Focus Group; and
  • Formal proposal and election of the 2021 Focus Group Committee Members 

Prospective Focus Group Committee Members must be nominated and seconded by existing Focus Plus Members.

Only registered Focus Plus Members are entitled to attend the AGM and to vote on the proposed Committee Member nominations. If you are not already a Focus Plus Member, visit the Focus website to find out more and sign up for just $5 per annum : https://focusphotographers.org/membership/

There will be a number of changes to the make-up of the Focus Committee in 2021:

John Armytage resigned as Executive Chairman of the Focus Group during the year.
Liz Bell resigned as Secretary of the Focus Group during the year (Glenda Jennings assumed the role of Secretary for the remainder of 2020).
Adam Williams resigned as a Committee Member during the year.
Mark Godfrey is not standing for re-election as Treasurer of the Focus Group.
Vito Recapito is not standing for re-election as a Committee Member of the Focus Group.

The following existing Committee Members have volunteered themselves for nomination and re-election to the 2021 Focus Group Committee:

Jo Andrews – Chairman
Glenda Jennings – Secretary
Jeanine Avery
– Committee Member
Andrew Porter – Committee Member
Graeme Gordon – Committee Member
Jo Langtry – Committee Member

As a result, there are currently a maximum of 5 vacancies for positions on the 2021 Focus Group Committee:

Treasurer
Committee Member 4 positions

Nominations are invited from Focus Members who would like to be considered for these positions.

The commitments required of Focus Committee Members are to attend a monthly meeting, usually held on the last Saturday of each month in North Sydney or via a Zoom meeting.

The position of Treasurer requires a background or some experience in bookkeeping or accounting.

Each general Committee Member will also be assigned roles, according to their skills and background. As appropriate, Committee Members will lead a sub-committee comprising other Focus Group volunteers who are able to devote time and effort to progressing key Focus Group projects during the course of the year.

Focus Committee Members are also committed to upholding the spirit and values of the Focus Group, as a vibrant community of photography enthusiasts at all levels of development, and to encourage the collaboration and sharing of knowledge that has always been a hallmark of the Focus Group culture.
