We have a fun Focus competition for April, in association with our long-standing partner Mainline Photographics.
The theme is MONO URBAN LANDSCAPE.
The single prize for the ultimate winner is a $100 voucher to be spent with Mainline Photographics http://mainlinephoto.com.au/
Our judges for this competition are Douwe Dijkstra (aka Dex) and Graeme Gordon.
The judges will consider each image separately based on a number of factors: technical excellence, composition, impact, emotion, and creativity.
The Focus April 2018 competition is open to all Members of the Focus Facebook and Flickr groups, resident in Australia. The competition is free to enter, and each Member can submit up to five images.
To be consistent with the rules for the annual Focus Awards competition, please note the following image submission guidelines:
- All images must have been captured between September 1st 2017 and April 30th 2018.
- Images can have been captured anywhere in the world.
- Images must depict an element or elements of the urban landscape. People can be included, to show their relationship with the urban environment, as long as they are not the dominant feature.
- Cityscape images will be allowed
- Images must also be Black & White
- Monotone and tints/tones are allowed
- But no selective colour should be used.
- Blended or multiple exposures will be allowed.
- No watermarks or logos will be allowed – to keep your entries anonymous to the judges
- Entries must be in JPEG format only; 2300px along the longest edge and saved in sRGB colour space. Image size under 3mb.
- Deadline for entries is 11.59pm on Monday 30th April 2018.
- We will aim to publish the winner and a gallery of the best images by Tuesday 8th May 2018.
- (The organisers acknowledge that you retain full ownership of the copyright in each entry).
