FOCUS SHOOTS RESUME

FOCUS SHOOTS RESUME AS RESTRICTIONS ARE LIFTED

Following recent National and State Government announcements, the Focus Committee has agreed to resume organising official supervised Focus photo shoots, abiding by the revised restrictions :

  • Shoots are capped at 10, including the Shoot Leader
  • Attendees must register on the Focus / Calendar web page https://focusphotographers.org/events/
  • (Please do not show up for a shoot hoping that someone else drops out, or add your name to a shoot if ten people have already registered)
  • Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell or have any symptoms or sickness. Make sure you withdraw your place on the shoot and seek medical advice.
  • Social distancing must be observed at all times, especially at the meeting point (which is usually in the dark : therefore bring a torch !)
  • When out in the field or on a rockshelf, please be mindful of other photographers or groups, such as fishermen, and keep your distance.
  • The official shoot finishes at the shoot location. There will be no formal breakfast arrangements afterwards.
  • Being outdoors and spaced apart, it is not considered necessary to wear a mask. That’s optional and up to each individual. It is recommended to bring and use hand sanitiser and to have the COVID-SAFE app running on your phone.
  • Focus shoots are organised by volunteers. The Shoot Leader is responsible for the group’s safety on location, as well as offering any photography-related advice. Focus shoots are usually held at the weekend, at a variety of (usually coastal) locations. Shoot Leaders select the location for each shoot based on their local knowledge, tides and weather forecasts. Details are usually posted on the Focus website and promoted via the Focus Facebook page by mid-week.

It’s great that recreational landscape photography is permitted again, but please help us to abide by the revised restrictions so that we can continue to enjoy the opportunity to shoot together safely. Thank you !
