COVID-19 UPDATE JUNE 2020

FOCUS SHOOTS : COVID-19 UPDATE FOLLOWING REVISED GOVERNMENT ADVICE.

Following recent Government announcements, the Focus Committee can confirm further lifting of restrictions regarding supervised Focus shoots :

  • Shoots are officially capped at 20 people, including the Shoot Leader, following the latest Government advice which came into effect on 13 June 2020.
  • These limits will be subject to further change and Focus policy will reflect future rules.
  • Focus Shoot Leaders may, in fact, impose a lower limit than this on any individual shoot, on safety grounds, reflecting specific locations and the relative experience of the photographers interested in attending a particular shoot.
  • Attendees must register on the Focus / Calendar web page https://focusphotographers.org/events/
  • Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell or have any symptoms or sickness.
  • Social distancing must be observed at all times.
  • Breakfasts will be re-introduced for those who enjoy socialising after a Focus shoot!
  • It will be the Shoot Leader’s responsibility to pre-book appropriate seating for the group with the chosen café, in order to comply with the social distancing measures which remain in place.

Focus shoots are organised by volunteers. The Shoot Leader is responsible for the group’s safety on location, as well as for offering photography-related advice. Focus shoots are usually held at the weekend, at a variety of (usually coastal) locations. Shoot Leaders select the location for each shoot based on their local knowledge, tides and weather forecasts. Details are posted on the Focus website and usually promoted via the Focus Facebook page by Thursday of each week. Places are assigned on a first-come-first-served basis.
