The Focus Committee announces that John Armytage has resigned as Executive Chairman and stepped down from the 2020 Focus Committee.
Recognising his extraordinary contribution to Focus for over ten years, the Focus Committee has invited John to become its Patron, to enable him to continue to represent and support Focus in a non-executive role.
John Armytage said :
“Since leaving Sydney and moving to Port Macquarie, my other commitments have become too great for me to fulfil the requirements of my position on the Focus Committee. Sadly I no longer have the time for Focus that I once did and I need to concentrate on personal projects.
It has been a great honour to represent Focus since the start in 2010. I am so proud of all we have accomplished over the past 10 years. I will continue to be an active member of the Focus community and maintain the many friendships I have made through Focus over the years.”
Jo Andrews, Chairperson of the 2020 Focus Committee, said :
“No one has done more than JA to inspire the Focus culture of a supportive and collaborative community passionate about landscape and seascape photography.
“While sad to see him step down from active duty on the Focus Committee, we are delighted that John has accepted the roles of Patron and Lifetime Member of Focus, which demonstrate our respect for him as the founder of the Focus community, and allows him to continue to represent Focus and its values.“
